MSP Crop List 2026-27: Full Minimum Support Price Table (₹/Quintal)

Updated 2026-07-10 · Market & prices

MSP is the floor price the government commits to buy certain crops at. Here is the full 2026-27 list, crop by crop — plus the honest part most lists skip: MSP is not the same as the price you will actually get.

What MSP is — and what it is not

Minimum Support Price (MSP) is a price announced each season by the government (the CCEA, on the recommendation of the CACP) for a set of 23 mandated crops. It is fixed at at least 1.5× the estimated cost of production and acts as a floor: government agencies stand ready to buy those crops at the MSP when market prices fall below it.

What MSP is not: a guarantee that every farmer sells at that price. MSP bites only where there is actual government procurement — for many crops and regions, the price you get is the mandi rate, which can sit above or below MSP. Treat the numbers below as the official floor, not the cheque you are promised.

Frequently asked questions

What is the MSP of paddy and wheat for 2026-27?
For the 2026-27 marketing season, common paddy MSP is ₹2,441 per quintal (Grade A ₹2,461) and wheat MSP is ₹2,585 per quintal. MSP is a floor price at which government agencies procure; the actual mandi price you get can be above or below it.
How many crops have an MSP in India?
There are 23 mandated crops — cereals (paddy, wheat, maize, jowar, bajra, ragi, barley), pulses (tur, moong, urad, gram, masur), oilseeds (groundnut, soybean, sunflower, sesamum, nigerseed, rapeseed-mustard, safflower) and commercial crops (cotton, jute, copra). Sugarcane is covered separately by the FRP, and crops like onion and potato have no MSP.
Does MSP mean I will definitely get that price?
No. MSP is a floor at which government agencies procure certain crops when market prices fall below it — it bites only where procurement actually happens. For many crops and regions you sell at the mandi rate, which can be above or below MSP, and several crops have no MSP at all. Always check today’s actual mandi price before selling.
