MSP is the floor price the government commits to buy certain crops at. Here is the full 2026-27 list, crop by crop — plus the honest part most lists skip: MSP is not the same as the price you will actually get.

What MSP is — and what it is not

Minimum Support Price (MSP) is a price announced each season by the government (the CCEA, on the recommendation of the CACP) for a set of 23 mandated crops. It is fixed at at least 1.5× the estimated cost of production and acts as a floor: government agencies stand ready to buy those crops at the MSP when market prices fall below it.

What MSP is not: a guarantee that every farmer sells at that price. MSP bites only where there is actual government procurement — for many crops and regions, the price you get is the mandi rate, which can sit above or below MSP. Treat the numbers below as the official floor, not the cheque you are promised.

Sugarcane and the crops with no MSP

Two things the table does not cover:

• Sugarcane is not under MSP — it has a separate Fair & Remunerative Price (FRP), set by the government and linked to sugar recovery, which mills must pay.
• Many crops have no MSP at all — including onion, potato, tomato and most vegetables and fruit. For these, the mandi price is everything, and storage and timing your sale matter most (see the onion and potato guides).

MSP vs. the price you actually get

Use MSP as a reference floor, then check reality before you sell:

• If the mandi rate is below MSP and your crop is one the government procures in your area, selling to the official procurement centre protects you.
• If the mandi rate is above MSP, the open market pays you more — sell there.
• For no-MSP crops, MSP is irrelevant; only the live mandi price matters.
